Bourbon Caramel Sauce - Use by date will be stamped on the individual container.

This ham has been smoked without adding additional water to increase the weight of the ham. No ingredients have been added to the ham, only to the curing agent that requires water.

Serving Instructions:

Allow ham to thaw in refrigerator (about 2-3 days). Remove ham from package and preheat oven to 325 degrees. If desired score ham with a sharp knife, by making 1/4 inch deep slices across the top of ham. Create a checkerboard pattern by cutting across these slices in the opposite direction making cuts about 1 inch apart. Add 1/8” or 1/4” of water to roasting pan. Place the sheet pan or roasting pan in the center of the oven and cook 12 minutes per pound for whole ham and 10 minutes per pound for half ham. For the first 2 hours cover the whole ham (1 hour for a half ham) with foil and the remaining of the cook time the ham can cook uncovered. Remove from oven and let rest for about 30 minutes.

Sauce Serving Instructions:

Once the ham has cooked, open sauce and pour into bowl and mix well. Pour 1 cup of sauce over ham while still hot from the oven. Slice ham and serve additional sauce on the side. It is not recommended to heat the sauce because it becomes thin and syrupy when heated. It is best served at room temperature.

Leftover sauce is excellent on ice cream.
